“There is no force equal to a woman determined to rise”
If I’ve learned one thing in my years, it’s that there is much truth to this quote. When a woman knows clearly what she wants, there really is nothing that will stand in her way.
In starting this blog, I had the aspiration of creating a place where people could connect, share inspiration and be more empowered. I hoped that in the blog posts I shared, I could help people to lead better lives and reach their own goals. Adding contributors to the site is one of the ways I hope to further help share inspiration and empower both the writers themselves, and the reader, you.
This week, I want to introduce you to the next addition to the site. If you’ve followed my wrestling, you may already know of her. Ashlee Spencer has been wrestling just over a year now and she has made a phenomenal impact since her debut. Beyond the wrestling ring however, she is an incredibly inspiring individual.
A hard working, determined fitness fanatic, she proudly leads a vegan lifestyle. She’s incredibly passionate and not only stands up for her beliefs, but will always stand up for others as well. I’ve had the honour of training her, and training alongside her. And it’s her gutsy nature to give nearly anything a go that I, personally, find inspiring.
Below, Ashlee has answered a few questions to give you further insight into who she is and what you can expect from her posts in the future. Please join me in welcoming Ashlee Spencer to the Brit Army.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a New Zealand wrestler and lifestyle model based in Auckland, working full time as an Operations Assistant in a top courier company. I run a blog called The Princess Diaries (the name comes from my wrestling character – The Princess of Ponsonby), and a monthly wrestling and lifestyle podcast with two of my best friends, called ‘Beauty and The Brainbuster’. I love Disney (my favourite Princess is Aurora), wrestling, and fitness. I’ve also been Vegan since April ’16, and featured on the cover of Vegan New Zealand Magazine’s Summer ’17 issue.
Why did you start blogging?
I started my blog as a behind the scenes look into the modelling I was doing, and show casing photographers I worked with. Since I began my training as a wrestler the blog has grown with me, and now includes many more of my interests and adventures.
What can we expect to read in future posts?
I use my blog as a photo diary of my experiences with wrestling, travel and great Vegan food I find along the way, so you can expect to see a lot deeper into the life I lead outside the wrestling ring, as well as behind the scenes of Armageddon’s and other wrestling adventures throughout New Zealand (and hopefully abroad).
I look forward to hearing more about Ashlee’s adventures and watching her achieve whatever she sets her heart on. If there’s one thing I’ve gotten to know about her it’s that, with her determination, there is nothing that will stop her from achieving great success in life.
If you’ve any questions for Ashlee, or any other member of the Brit Army, please leave a comment, contact us on the link above, or on social media.
