“Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back”
A few weeks ago, in one of my posts, I mentioned that I would be introducing some new contributors to this website. Today, I want to introduce you to one of these fantastic ladies, Erin Hill.
I have known Erin for nearly 7 years now. She’s a fantastic Mum & Wife who has been through a lot and always manages to remain positive. I find her incredibly inspiring and I’m sure you will too. I’ve asked her a few questions to help you get to know her and what you can expect from her posts in the coming weeks. Please join me in welcoming Erin to the Brit army.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I’m a wifey, mummy, full time Business Development Manager and blogger, to top it off. Nick and I have been married for 7 years and have 1 amazing (bias alert here, but I’m pretty sure I’m right!) and very full-on 2.5 year old little boy, Tatum. We’re pretty sure he already has aspirations to join Nitro Circus! We also have a Maltese named Bruno that we dubbed ‘the Little White Terror’ and we got him 2 months before Tatum was born, (can anyone say crazy!?!) but he is most certainly a part of the family. I’ve worked in the insurance industry for the last 6 years, going through a few different roles, to land where I am now, working in the Relationship Management Team.
Why did you start blogging?:
I always had it in the back of my mind, from about the time I was pregnant, that I wanted to blog as an outlet to my thoughts. And to maybe help or inspire others who may be going through similar situations, (because we’re all in this thing called life together, right? And we need to stick together and lift each other up!) but I never got around to it. It was always there as this nagging thing in my mind until one day I just decided that if I didn’t start, I never would. So, I took the plunge!
What can we expect to read in future posts?:
There will be a real mix of my life as a mummy. Dealing with our son’s heart, asthma and skin issues. Working to get back to a good space with my body. And just what is happening and affecting our lives. To elaborate a bit… in the last year and a half, I have been plagued with multiple injuries. It started with breaking my Tibia and ending up in a full leg splint and on crutches. I then injured my shoulder after being a bit uncoordinated (understatement!) on the crutches. I’ve also had 3 car accidents in the last year, (yes, I can hear those gasps! And no, they weren’t my fault. I wasn’t even moving in the last 2. Just sitting at the intersection) that resulted in whiplash injuries. Most recently, I injured my ankle at the gym and also have a historic wrist injury from 2009 that still isn’t right, after 2 surgeries on it. So, I really need to get my body back to a place where everything is being held in place like it should be. And just being healthy in general.
If you’ve any questions for Erin, please put them in the comments below!
I, for one, am looking forward to reading Erin’s progress to success. Getting her body back to where she wants to be. And seeing Tatum grow in strength. He’s an incredible little man which I think is a huge credit to the hard work his parents put into raising him.
